Where to Ride Your Dirt Bike This Weekend: April 1-3

It’s time to start planning for that moto weekend with your bae - your dirt bike, that is. As some of you are in disbelief that we would use the word bae, however, it does not change the fact you need to spoil her as if she was born with a celebrity kid’s name, like Blue Ivy, celebrating her tenth birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. Though, Blue Ivy would not be caught dead at such a cliché, thrifty party restaurant.  Anyhoo, the weather is look good, so far for the weekend. Here is the rundown in our local coverage area:

Lincoln Trail Motosports, Casey, IL

For its third race weekend in a row, Lincoln Trail Motoports in Casey, Illinois will host the North Central Loretta Lynn Area Qualifier on the Bomber track. Racing is open to everybody of all skill levels even if you don’t plan to qualify. Below is the weekend schedule that starts with practice on Friday and two separate days of racing on Saturday and Sunday.

 WEEKEND SCHEDULE

Thursday - March 31 - Early Arrival

  • Gates Open: 4pm-11pm
  • Early Practice & Race Registration: 6pm-8pm

 Friday - April 1 - Practice

  • Gates Open: 6am and remain open all weekend
  • Registration: 8am
  • Practice: 10am-4pm
  • Early Race Registration: 4pm-6pm
  • 15 min. practice sessions
  • Minimum 3 rotations

 Saturday - April 2 - Race Day

  • Gates Open: 24 Hrs
  • Race Registration: 6am-8am
  • Practice: 8am (Riders meeting will be broadcast at starting line prior to each practice)
  • Early Race Registration: 6pm-8pm
  • 10 min. practice sessions

 Sunday - April 3 - Race Day

  • Gates Open: 24 Hrs
  • Race Registration: 6am-8am
  • Practice: 8am (Riders meeting will be broadcast at starting line prior to each practice)
  • 2 lap practice sessions

KCMOTO – Adrian, MO

KCMoto is host to round 3 of the Midwest MX Championship Series. Weekend begins with a prepped practice day on Saturday from 10am-3pm. It’s $25 to practice. All tracks will be open for Saturday practice.  

Sunday is race day.

  • Gates open at 6:30am
  • Practice at 9am
  • Races at 10:30am
  • Gate fee is $10 (2 years and under are free)
  • $40 race fee per class

Sunset Ridge – Walnut, IL

Sunset Ridge plans to be open Saturday and Sunday, April 2 and 3 for bikes and quads. Times posted are 10am-4pm. This be a good time to gets some laps in before the Loretta Lynn Area Qualifier on April 23-24. As always, practice days are weather permitting, so keep up with the tracks Facebook page or website for changes or call 815-379-9534 to confirm. Track is located at 24558 1100 E STREET WALNUT, IL. 61376.

Ride Organic – Alton, IL

As always, Ride Organic in Alton, Illinois is regularly an option during the weekends to get some seat time. For those of you who have not been to Ride Organic, it is a 72 acre Ranch, 20 acres of it is dedicated to farming Organic vegetables and 20 acres is used for a very unique training for Motocross, Short Track TT, sand track, enduro X and much more. Valley MX – Grain Valley, MO

If you are not in the moto mood and don’t want to race the Midwest MX Series at KCMoto, but still want to put in some seat time on your bae, hit up Grain Valley on Sunday, April 3. Grain Valley has announced they will host a prepped practice “the jumps are all being re-done, some are being widened, and lots of mulch is being put down. I dont know if any changes will be made to the track. That will just depend on the weather.” Times are 10am-4pm. Call 816-853-9825 with your deep questions.
