THINGS TO DO WHILE IN ANAHEIM (Descriptions taken from websites)

K1 Speed Anaheim

The premise behind the creation of K1 Speed was to offer enthusiasts and amateurs alike an authentic and genuine racing experience in a safe, comfortable, accessible and perhaps most importantly, unique environment. Utilizing advanced European electric karts and indoor asphalt tracks, K1 Speed quickly developed a reputation as being fun and exciting, and our growth has been continuous since we first opened our doors. In addition to our Arrive and Drive racing option, which allows individuals to visit our indoor karting centers anytime and experience the thrill of racing, we also offer racing leagues and a variety of packages for corporate events and group parties, which have proven quite popular. To meet the needs of customers and kart racing enthusiasts who demand more, we also have a Pro Shop - K1 Race Gear - which carries everything that a karter might need to compete at the track. At K1 Speed, our goal is to be synonymous with karting, and we think that we are on our way!

California Adventure Park

Located in Anaheim, next to the famous Disneyland. California Adventure has great attractions, such as Soaring, Tower of Terror and Paradise Pier home of the Mickey Fun Wheel. The fun wheel is not like your average Ferris wheel ride, you must try the ride for yourself to find out. The park also has great restaurants and lots of shopping. My favorite restaurant is Wine Country Trattoria.

Fun place for all ages to visit.

Adventure City

Take a really fun, interactive children’s museum and mix it with that clean and friendly carnival that stops in the local park every couple of years, and you’ve got Adventure City. It’s not big, and it’s not fancy, but families, especially the younger kids, will love it. Here’s what the parents will love, it’s very affordable and offers free parking. That’s theme park magic!

Yorba Park

Yorba Regional Park offers over a mile of beautiful walkways along the Santa Ana River. There are barbecues, sports fields and play areas, but the best draw on a warm summer day may be the shade. Find a tree around one of the numerous ponds in the park, put out a blanket and start your life of leisure.

Flightdeck Air Combat Center

Have you ever wanted to fly a military jet, but not go through years of training and bootcamp (and you don’t know Louis Gossett, Jr.)? Then you are in luck — assuming you are over the age of 11. Flightdeck Air Combat Center is your highway to the danger zone. Here you can pilot a fighter jet from take-offs to landings (if you survive), engage in air-to-air combat and perform incredible aerial maneuvers, all from the safety of an authentic military flight simulator. No word on whether or not you can buzz the tower. Yes, I referenced both Iron Eagle and Top Gun. It’s that awesome!

Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood gives visitors the unique chance to go behind-the-scenes in some of the most beloved films of all time to learn what goes into the magic of movies. Ride thrilling rides, see giant animatronic dinosaurs and learn about CGI and 3D technology in this popular attraction!

Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure

Ride on such attractions as Space Mountain, Indiana Jones' Adventure, and more at this magical park covering over 60 different rides and shows. Take the kids on a fast rollercoaster, or try an entertaining performance like Disney's Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular. Make the experience customized to your needs by stopping at a dining spot or a concession stand.

Pirate's Dinner Adventure Buena Park, CA

The whole family will love Pirate's Dinner Adventure. Comedy, action and romance combine together to give the audience a show they'll never forget. Princess Anita has been kidnapped by the evil pirate Sebastian the Black, and it's up to the audience to help the good guys rescue her. The stage is uniquely set on board an 18th-century Spanish ship, anchored in a 250,000 gallon lagoon. The audience sits in seats wrapped around the ship, giving everyone an incredible view of the performance. While the swords are clashing and cannons are booming in an epic battle, the audience can enjoy a delicious pirate's meal, making the adventure a unique experience everyone will enjoy.

Movie Stars' Homes & 1/2 day Shopping Tour

Tour the highlights of the Hollywood life in this great tour that pulls in the sights of celebrity mansions with the fun interactivity of shopping. You'll take a tour with a guide through Rodeo Drive, Bel Air, Sunset Strip, and many other areas as you learn about some of the various movie star homes. Later on, you'll be able to shop in Anaheim at the Citadel Outlets.

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament

Jousting knights, fair maidens and regal horseplay in a faux castle are all a part of the Medieval Times experience, where 1,000 guests are transported from suburban Orange County to the Middle Ages during a two-hour show and dinner. As costumed performers duel it out in the center arena, guests dine on a four-course meal that includes roasted chicken, spare ribs, dessert and two rounds of non-alcoholic drinks. (Vegetarian meals are available, too.) And, you can forget about silverware at this 11th-century feast.

Disney's California Adventure

Opened in 2001, this 55-acre theme park was created to pay tribute to the State—and state of mind—of California. Five areas, including Sunshine Plaza, Hollywood Pictures Backlot, The Golden State, A Bug’s Land and Paradise Pier, are each meant to represent aspects of the state, its culture, landmarks and history. Thrill rides like California Screamin’ roller coaster and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror appeal to older kids, while A Bug’s Land offers rides and shows for younger visitors. Everyone, however, should experience Soarin’ Over California, a simulated hang-glider ride over the Golden State that seems so real, you can even detect the fragrance of orange blossoms as you fly over groves. The park is set to open several new rides in 2011, including an attraction based on “The Little Mermaid.” In the evening, the park’s “World of Color” show features some pretty spectacular effects using light and water.
