Where to Ride Your Dirt Bike This Weekend: April 30 - May 1

The Midwest is wealthy of places to rip it this weekend, but as we know, Mother Nature can be a bit bi-polar sometimes during this time of the year. Be sure to double check possible changes or updates in schedules by visiting the tracks’ social network pages or website, as weather is looking to be a factor this weekend in some areas. Be safe and have fun.


This races has been rescheduled for May 21 and 22 due to weather predictions.



Voted the best track in Kansas for the second year in a row in the Motoplayground Reader’s Choice pool, Bar2Bar is hosting a North Central Area Qualifier this weekend.  The sandy loam is like gold for Midwest dirt which is typically clay. Whether you still need to qualify for the regionals or not, Bar2Bar is worth the trip to rip. Here is the weekend schedule that begins with practice on Friday:

Thursday (April 28th, 2016)

  • 4:00pm-10:00pm Gate Hours
  • 6:00pm-8:00pm Registration Opens (for Friday Practice)

Friday (April 29th, 2016)

  • 6:00am-11:00pm Gates Hours
  • 8:00am Registration Opens (For Practice)
  • 10:00am - 4:00pm Practice Order (Tentative)
  • Practice order for all classes will be posted at the track
  • 11:00am - 5:00pm Registration (Race)

Saturday (April 30th, 2016)

  • 6:00am - 11:00pm Gate Hours
  • 6:30am - 8:00am Registration Hours
  • 7:30am Practice (3-laps- one round/order to be posted)
  • Upon Completion of Practice:
  • Riders Meeting at the Flag Pole
  • Note: (First two classes in race order to report to riders Meeting with bike and gear parked outside the fence)
  • Opening Ceremonies
  • Racing Begins –

Sunday (May 1st, 2016)

  • 6:00am Gate Opens
  • 7:30am Practice (3-laps-one round/order to be posted)
  • Upon Completion of Practice:

Oak Ridge MX – Garwin, IA

Nestled in the picturesque rolling hills of Tama County, Iowa, Oak Ridge MX is hosting a race weekend that begins with open practice on Saturday, April 30 and a District 22 Points race on Sunday, May 1. The facility accommodates all skill levels with natural elevation changes with big jumps. Saturday’s practice runs from 10am-4pm. On Sunday, rider’s meeting is at 8:30am and practice start directly after. Please note, an AMA card is required.


Ride Organic – Alton, IL

As always, Ride Organic in Alton, Illinois is regularly an option during the weekends to get some seat time. For those of you who have not been to Ride Organic, it is a 72 acre Ranch, 20 acres of it is dedicated to farming Organic vegetables and 20 acres is used for a very unique training for Motocross, Short Track TT, sand track, enduro X and much more.
