2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Broadcast Schedule

2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship to Feature Nearly 40 Hours of Live Coverage on MAVTV and NBC Sports
Full Summer Schedule Includes More Than 60 Hours of Coverage

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (May 11, 2017) - The highly anticipated 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, will storm out of the gate in just nine days, and today MX Sports Pro Racing and NBC Sports Group unveiled the full slate of broadcast coverage for the upcoming season. The world's most prestigious off-road motorcycle championship will once again call NBC, NBC Sports Network (NBCSN), and MAVTV home this summer, spearheaded by nearly 40 hours of LIVE coverage and more than 60 hours of total broadcast time.

Three rounds of live network coverage on NBC serves as the centerpiece of the 2017 television schedule, with the final 450 Class moto of the Red Bull High Point National (June 17), Red Bull Southwick National (July 8), and GEICO Motorcycle Budds Creek National (August 19) each brought into millions of homes across the country. MAVTV will continue to bring live coverage of the opening motos at all 12 rounds, while NBCSN will carry live final-moto coverage from half of the races

Arguably the biggest change in how fans can watch the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship this summer is online with the introduction of exclusive on-demand access from NBC Sports Gold. For just $49.99 racing fans all over the world will receive the "Pro Motocross Pass," featuring direct-to-consumer live streaming with no commercials and the ability to witness timed qualifying and both sets of motos as they happen, in addition to full event replays from both the 2015 and 2016 seasons. That works out to just over $4 per round over the course of the season, with access to more live coverage and additional content than ever before.

"When you combine the extensive broadcast schedule and the addition of NBC Sports Gold, the 2017 season presents an unprecedented level of access to the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship," said MX Sports Pro Racing President Davey Coombs. "Now our fans both domestically and internationally will be able to watch all the action unfold from the comfort of any television, mobile device, or streaming platform. While it is bittersweet to depart with the complementary live streaming we've enjoyed hosting on ProMotocross.com, the price point and the amount of content that is available with the ‘Pro Motocross Pass' is truly incredible. It's without a doubt the best deal of its kind for the sport as a whole."

Capping off each round of the championship will be exclusive one-hour highlight shows on NBCSN, each airing within a handful of days of every National. NBCSN will also feature a mid-season-review episode, as well as season-review episodes for both the 450 Class and 250 Class.

The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship broadcast team that will bring the action to the fans will once again feature Jason Weigandt as host, handling play-by-play duties during the races, with former Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Champion Grant Langston serving as the color analyst alongside Weigandt in the booth. Trackside correspondent Georgia Albertson returns as well, bringing viewers inside information and the latest breaking news from the pits.

The 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship will kick off on Saturday, May 20, with the Red Bull Hangtown Motocross Classic from Prairie City SVRA in Sacramento, California. From there, the 45th anniversary of American motocross will take the fastest riders on the planet to the country's most iconic venues before crowning a pair of champions from Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana, on August 26.

Free Admission to Military Veterans at Lucas Oil Pro Motocross

MX Sports Pro Racing and VetTix.org Continue Partnership to Offer Free Admission to Military Veterans at Lucas Oil Pro Motocross
Veteran Tickets Foundation to Receive 750 Total Tickets for 2017 Season

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (May 4, 2017) - MX Sports Pro Racing, the National Promoters Group (NPG), and the Veteran Tickets Foundation have announced their continued partnership for the upcoming 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. Through a cooperative initiative between these parties, military veterans will be provided the opportunity to obtain free admission at all 12 rounds of the world's most prestigious off-road motorcycle racing series via VetTix.org, a national non-profit, non-governmental 501c(3) tax-exempt organization.

A sum of 50 tickets per round, and 750 tickets in total, will be donated to Vet Tix and made available at no cost to both active duty and retired service men and women. The tickets will be made available two weeks prior to each respective round of the championship, first come, first serve, through VetTix.org.

Additionally, GEICO Motorcycle, a longtime support of both Pro Motocross and the military, will leverage its support of the championship to provide an additional 50 tickets for select rounds on the schedule - the Red Bull Hangtown Motocross Classic, FMF Glen Helen National, and GEICO Motorcycle Budds Creek National. The renowned insurance provider will host a VIP hospitality area at these events for military veterans and their families, who simply need to show a valid military ID for complimentary access.

"We couldn't be more pleased to extend our partnership with the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. This has become a highly anticipated and sought-after tradition for our veterans and their families," said Brandi Shannon, Chief of Community Relations at Veteran Tickets Foundation. "This initiative provides an otherwise unattainable opportunity for many of our veterans to experience a truly exhilarating sport, and generate one-of-a-kind memories with their families. It's just one way we're all able to show our appreciation for their service."

Vet Tix holds partnerships with virtually all major sporting leagues, highlighted by marquee organizations like Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association, National Football League, and National Hockey League. In addition to those, Vet Tix works alongside sports entertainment franchises like World Wrestling Entertainment and Professional Bull Riders, as well as motorsports organizations like the NHRA and several racetracks that host NASCAR and IndyCar events.

The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship was one of the first prominent motorsports properties in the country to establish this service for veterans of the armed forces, and enters its sixth year of partnership with the Veteran Tickets Foundation.

"We're proud to be one of the pioneering racing organizations of this incredible annual effort to share our gratitude for everything our veterans do to protect the country," said MX Sports Pro Racing President Davey Coombs. "It's a small token of our appreciation that we ultimately hope spawns countless memories and creates new motocross fans for life. The Veteran Tickets Foundation has been an incredible partner for the past half decade, and we look forward to continuing this unique and special tradition."

Based in Phoenix, the Veterans Tickets Foundation was founded by U.S. Navy veteran Michael Focareto  in 2008 and has been providing free tickets to veterans and active-duty members of the military and their families ever since. Over the course of nearly a decade, the organization has given away well over 1 million tickets to veterans nationwide.

REVISED: FMF 125 Dream Race Invitational Triple Crown

Revised: The format for each of the three races in the Triple Crown will feature one practice and one moto, which will take place before the first 450 and 250 Class motos.

Inaugural FMF 125 Dream Race Invitational Triple Crown Adds
Two-Stroke Racing to 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship
Three-Race Series Will Include Hangtown, Thunder Valley, and Washougal

MX Sports Pro Racing and FMF Racing have announced and exciting addition to the 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship with the inaugural FMF 125 Dream Race Invitational Triple Crown. This trio of two-stroke races will take place at the season-opening Red Bull Hangtown Motocross Classic on May 20, the True Value Thunder Valley National on June 3, and the Peterson CAT Washougal National on July 29.

The legacy of the sound and smell of a two-stroke engine has remained an integral part of the lore of the world's most prestigious motocross championship and its 45-year history. Now, for the first time since the move to four-stroke motorcycles, fans old and new will have the chance to watch a full gate of 125cc machines compete at the Nationals.

"FMF was founded on two-stroke machines back in 1973, and we are very pleased to be a part of the new two-stroke movement that is taking place," said FMF Racing Marketing Director Donny Emler, Jr. "Working with MX Sports Pro Racing on the idea to have a ‘Triple Crown' event and have the promoters at each of these legendary tracks jump at the opportunity is pretty special.  I can't wait to hear these races take place!"

The format for each of the three races in the Triple Crown will feature one practice and one moto, which will take place before the first 450 and 250 Class motos. The competitors that will make up each 125 Dream Race field will consist of past champions, former pros, factory-level amateur competitors, and potentially even industry icons and celebrities.

"The opportunity to pay homage to the roots of American motocross was simply too good to pass up," said Davey Coombs, President of MX Sports Pro Racing. "The draw of a two-stroke has remained prevalent despite the progression of the sport, and thanks to the longstanding partnership we have with a passionate supporter like FMF we have the ability to give our fans and the motocross industry what it wants with a truly special showcase at multiple rounds of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship."

FMF Racing's sponsorship of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, and the sport of motocross, spans decades. The iconic exhaust manufacturer also serves as the title sponsor of the FMF Glen Helen National on Memorial Day weekend (May 27).

"After our inaugural 125 Dream Race Invitational at Washougal last year, it's exciting to have MX Sports Pro Racing recognize the vision of what the 125 Dream Race stands for, and what it brings to the industry and community of current motocross racers and fans, and those still to come." says Joey Lancaster, the founder of the original 125 Dream Race, now entering its sixth year apart of the National's amateur weekend racing program at Washougal MX Park.
