Danielle Grigoletti has qualified for the largest amateur motocross race in the world, the 34th Annual Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships presented by AMSOIL at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. Grigoletti took on over 22,000 hopefuls from across America to earn one of just 1,482 qualifying positions. Here is a little bio on our local hopeful.

What does it mean to you to be competing on the biggest stage of Amateur Motocross?
It definitely makes me stand out, and have to work harder than my other competitors since I have to go to school and can only ride on the weekends. When I finish on the podium, I get pretty excited to see the amount of work I put in is paying off.
What are you doing to prepare?
I do a lot of heat training and cardio with long motos.
What is the most enjoyable part of racing motocross?
Spending so much time with my dad.
What is something people do not know about you but should know about you?
I go to public school and I am only able to ride on the weekends.
What has been your most memorable moment racing thus far?
Getting 2nd at Loretta's last year knowing all my hard work was getting me somewhere and being able to spend that moment with my whole family.
What is the best advice you have ever been given and by whom?
When you make a mistake just forget about it and move on don't dwell on it, and don't over think - Brad Jerominski.
What is the worst advice that someone has given you and by whom?
Just go out and ride, it doesn't matter you're a girl. A friend from the track.
What do you believe are your key strengths?
What motivates you to do your best each time you are on the track?
When my sister is watching me, so I can push to do my best so she has someone to look up too.
What is your greatest achievement outside of motocross?
Making varsity volleyball as a sophomore.
What are you looking for in terms of motocross racing?
Just trying to get as far as I can before I leave for college. Getting far in racing as a girl isn't worth it.
Favorite pre-race meal?
Peanut butter sandwich and chocolate milk

YZ 250 2-stroke.
