Making it to Loretta Lynn's in 2012
What does it mean to you to be competing on the biggest stage of Amateur Motocross?
I'm just very thankful to be racing at Loretta's again with some of the fastest guys from around the world.
What are you doing to prepare?
Trying to ride and race as much as I can before making the trip down to Tennessee.
What is your daily routine?
To be honest, I work Monday thru Friday 8-5 and try to ride 3-4 times a week at some of the local tracks around where I live.
What is the most enjoyable part of racing motocross?
Going out on the track and having as much fun as I can, but winning races isn't bad either.
What is something people do not know about you but should know about you?
Since one of the first races of the year, I've been racing with my ACL and both meniscus tore. I had surgery to get everything cleaned up inside my knee but I haven't gotten my ACL fixed again and will probably wait till the end of the racing season.
What has been your most memorable moment racing thus far?
Winning at some Pro Am races and making it to Loretta's twice now.
What is the best advice you have ever been given and by whom?
"Riding smooth is faster than riding out of control!" By my father
What is the worst advice that someone has given you and by whom?
"The farther you jump the faster you go!" By Thyberg a racing friend.
What do you believe are your key strengths?
Not letting other riders try and distract me while racing.
What motivates you to do your best each time you are on the track?
My family and my girlfriend
What have you learned from your mistakes out on the track?
Try and ride smooth not out of control because crashing is never fun!
What is your greatest achievement outside of motocross?
Helping my older brother run his autobody business.
What are you looking for in terms of motocross racing?
To have fun and try to win some races while doing it.
Favorite pre-race meal:
Most people that know me would guess its birthday cake but it’s actually bananas and granola bars.
Best bike you ever raced:
My current bikes, YZ250 2-stroke and YZ450.
Thank you very much for wanting and taking the time to interview me for Loretta's!
